Buying a shipping container can offer many practical onsite storage solutions that custom built buildings or sheds may not provide in one way or another.  There are countless varieties and options to choose from when selecting a cargo container for sale that can fit any budget or application across the country.  Factors such as pricing and condition may appeal to a wide range of buyers that may have an application specifically suited to a container based purchase.  Cargo containers have multiple levels of grades to select from and many one trip container builds (new containers) to choose from if a specialized size or function is needed.  

Storage Containers for Sale by Grade 

Used shipping containers for sale have different levels of grade that may suit a buyer more so because of the price, implementation and accessibility.  Used storage sea containers are more commonly available for sale in large volumes in comparison to one trippers (new one way containers).  The most common used container is referred to as a watertight or wind and water tight storage container.  Watertight containers are the most economical option because they heavily outweigh the criteria of common onsite storage capability which some other used containers may surpass because they qualify for export overseas.

Cargo worthy or cargo ready containers are a watertight container that has been approved for overseas shipping because it meets the condiitons of structural integrity, overall functionality and is approved by a certified inspector to be allowed to haul cargo internationally.  Cargo worthy containers cost a bit more than watertight dry van containers but may resemble very little difference cosmetically overall.  An IICL used conex container on the other hand has to meet strict requirements of minimal repairs, minimal indentations, rusting, and general guidelines by an inspector to be approved for lease.  Due to the criteria an IICL cargo container has to adhere to, they generally are a younger second-hand container that can cost significantly more than a watertight or cargo ready container.  Used IICL shipping containers are less commonly available but more atheistically attractive than many other used containers for sale.  A photo gallery of container conditions can be seen here. 

New Shipping Containers for Sale Prices 

One trip or one way shipping containers are newly built containers brought over to the United States on a single voyage.  New shipping containers are specifically built for sale and come in many different sea box sizes and dimensions.  One trip containers have special builds that include double ended doors (tunnel boxes), open side (fully open sided container), special lengths, high cube options and removable hard tops. Other perks of one trippers are higher door handles for ease of operation, fork pockets, lock boxes and in some cases rubber gripped door handles.
